Research on Sudan

Recently we were requested to do some research before the making of our videos. Here's my reasearch on what I have learnt on about Sudan and Human rights:


Human rights are rules we deserve to have simply because we are human, rights are things we are not to be taken for granted, but they are rights we are allowed, it is like the major steps of the law, and there are different rights for different groups, but in the human world, there are only 30 universal rights. A big right that we all respect is that we have the right to be equal, that rule is sometimes violated due to discrimination. Like all the other rights, we can't get rid of the problem, but we can use the rights to solve it. 


Human rights can only apply to those who are homo sapiens, in other words, humans, like you and me. These rights are like a shield to anybody who would intend harm to you. Human rights are developed by a certain group called the UNDHR.


The UNDHR or Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a declaration adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. It basically talks about the natural rights humans deserve to have no matter what, and these rights are what protect us humans. Unfortunately, the UNDHR is usually criticized about that the rules are mostly based on the Jewish and Christians. 


After researching, I found out that there's been a high portion of torturing in the lands of Sudan, and it comes to show, that they have violated more than one right in Sudan, for there is a right of no torture allowed.


The life of a female in Sudan can be very dangerous unless you follow the rules. On most cases, a woman, or a girl under the age of 18 would be punished for wearing skirts above the knee or wearing trousers. They would get a lashing if they defy the rules. On most countries claim it to be inhumane, the rules are traditional and they keep to it.

In Sudan, there is very little food to eat, most of the time the food source is dropped down from a passing plane, it's an arial life line made by the UN and other organizations, until they are able to grow their own food, they are supported with food from planes for now.


Sudan is currently in a war with the Islamic government, therefore, the village soldiers are able to get a lager portion of food, for they fight for their people. The major cause for the famine for sudanese is not because of drought, but the wars, the soldiers usually take up most of the food, leaving very small portions of food for the rest of the sudanese. 


Starving people who have managed to escaped the war zones and have to walk dangerous journeys for days to enter the food centers, luckily, there are plenty of food centers, they are just quite far and many people die in an attempt to make it there to feed themselves. Because more and more escapees are flooding into the country side, normal Sudanese are unable to grow their own crops and live a normal life. 


Slavery is still going on in Sudan, with the wars going on in the areas were there is slavery, it is almost difficult to stop it. The Islamic  soldiers would take the women and children and capture them as slaves, then sell them to the wealthy Islamic people were they are used and treated like any other object.

Famine and drought is extremely common in these wide areas. Many areas still remain off limits and many of the people of poverty are still left dying without medical attention. Food is still being delivered by the UN thrown off an airplane. Sometimes there are a few airplane landings to come to the sudanese's aid. At least while they can.


The country is very dangerous and war is still going on on multiple areas in the country. It is too dangerous for any outsiders to land almost anywhere without permission or as long as nobody working for the government sees the landing, this brings that people are quite passionate about helping these people even if it risks their lives.


There are very limited areas where the UN can actually drop down some resources in very limited areas. Mostly they are dropped down into small villages that the government is possibly unaware of.

Villages have been burned down by the government of Sudan. It's villagers have been sitting on top of a huge supply of oil buried somewhere within the villages grounds. Now, villagers are trying to protect their lands from the day when a group of soldiers push them out, or gas them, on sometimes gun them down. Villagers are not happy with the fact the government takes their oil.  Unfortunately, those who try to stop any soldier in their way of the gruesome evacuation shall be killed, tortured, and possibly sent to prison for quite  while.


Now, as anybody walks in the streets of a few ruins, they can see the history that happened quite recently. The ruins possibly had been a happy small village with hundreds of people flooding in and out buying things off the markets.


There is very little education around. The only areas for school is mostly burnt down wastelands. Students would sit around on ash or an area where one has died just to see the teacher educate them. Even the hospitals are short on resources resulting in many people dying of the simplest illnesses. 

ICT-New topic!- A view on the world

Firstly, we were introduced to a new topic, A View on the world, we are to learn the life in Sudan and how different can it be towards our lives.


Firstly our task is to research about the life in sudan, as I looked through this, I can tell without even researching that how much the lives people live here are far more different to the life I always live in.  I also figured out that the life I live in always has me worrying most about what homework is due the next day in school. For any person in Sudan, I can guess that they are worrying and hoping that nobody would come into their village holding guns, driving in tanks, villagers yelling at them to run, hide, don't look back as the rest of their family falls, leaving them the only survivors of the few.


As I looked more onto news reports and more information of the lives in Sudan, I cannot help but notice of how much the majority of the information is mainly based on war, Sudan is mainly known or it's conflict.


During our research, we were told to look on a few videos on this site: http://www.youthforhumanrights.org/what-are-human-rights/videos/born-free-and-equal.html. after looking onto this site, I feel really touched on the few videos off this website and it reminds me of how lucky am I to be here in this life where I am a female and I can go to school.

ICT Essay- Computer Systems

Computers contain components that are essential enable people to access applications and would be enabled to go online and chat with their friends. There are six components that enable the computer to work. These are actually the main components we need in order to make the computer work: CPU-This is the part of the computer that does most of the processing. The Case- This part keeps all other components together in place. Motherboard- this is the part where connects all other components. Ram- Random Access Memory. This allows the information to be looked into or be organized. HHD- this plays the CDs. Finally, we have the Power Supply- Supplies the power. Without any of these components, the laptop wouldn’t even work.

There are four areas mainly based on the computer system: People, Network, Software and Hardware. We see the results of when people use computers, sometimes people can be able to do their work and send files, then again, those that aren’t careful with sending their things might end up being cyberbullied. The network meant a big space where computers are all connected to each other, this is how people get to chat with friends or access information and are able find multiple things they might like. Software are programs we are able to access in order to create files and write reports and such. Hardware are bits and pieces that make up the computer.

The Internet is a range of space where computers are connected to each other and they can access to information from one place and apply that information to another place. When one sends and email, Assuming that package sent is a picture of the person’s vacation photos, the Photos are divided into multiple packages and are sent to the destined place it is sent to, while they are being sent, the packages have to make hops, so theyh hop from one place to another till they get to the destination. The packages will always try to take the fastest route to reach the destination. But since they usually arrived at random order and have to travel from one place to another, it sometimes takes a while to load those pictures. The reason is that sometimes a package makes hops from one area such as passing by Facebook or Youtube. The packages would always take the fastest route to go to the destination.

The reason why it sometimes takes a while to go to the destination and go into place, is because that when one of the packages gets lost, it tries to find another way to go to the destination. If it doesn’t arrive there, the destination sends a message the starting place to send another of that missing package. Therefore, that package makes its way to the destination.

There are many possibilities of how people can use the Internet and for what reason, people can meet new people, such as dating sites, they can also be able to do things such as be able to save time writing books or homework, show everyone their work, chat with friends. The possibilities are endless. However, there are many things that can cause harm to the computer and to the person.

There are many types of misuse of ICT, there are the spammers, those that send multiple messages of the same message over and over again. This is really annoying for anyone especially on Facebook with Farmville requests. Next there are the Hackers, they always break into peoples accounts and messing everything around, possibly stealing information and selling tat information. Hacking is just like breaking into someone’s house and vandalising, stealing their things and selling the stolen stuff.

There’s also more examples such as Offensive Content, People have put up inappropriate information of a subject and have posted it online. One time there was a kid using the school equipment and was pretending to do the star wars moves. Apparently he used the school camera and someone got the tape and uploaded it online. Everybody saw it and it was a hit. Meanwhile, the Star wars kid was bullied in school multiple times and was taken to therapy more than once.  This indicates of how serious this is and how much it affects people’s lives. Offensive contents contain people expressing insulting language of others and there can be many cases of racism.

Another example of misuse of ICT are Frauds, they take credit for what others have done and could, on many occasions, pretend to be someone while they meet new people or talk to others in order to gain their trust. This is how many people get into trouble, innocent people meet these frauds, the frauds pretend to be someone innocent, then the fraud persuades the innocent to meet at a place where the fraud can do things to the innocent person.

There are those who blackmail people with the things they have from the victims account, nothing will happen unless the victim chooses not to do anything told to.

This is the significance of the usage of the computer system. From the simple 6 components can lead to the function of the computer, here people can see the significance of each of these components if they are to accomplish most of anything to do with ICT and technology. Even the case is important for it contains the On/Off button, and a few lights. The laptop contains all these components but they are in more of a different shape and are arranged differently.

The significance of these components are essential, after that, there is the internet, a place for people to interact and is a place where ideas and information can be shared from one place to another. This is the best way to send and receive things here and there all over the world.

Unfortunately there is the bad things, there is cyber bullying and can be just like normal bullying in school but this time it is bullying and people from all over the world can see this. This usually results to people being bullied till they are at the point when they can’t take it any longer.

So here, people can see the significance of the computer systems. There are millions of possibilities, yet there are the worse things that can happen.

What is the Internet?

The internet is a network that allows to to connect to other networks. In other words, it's like a group of computers that are connected to each and everyone of each other, therefore information passing through is enabled to go anywhere.  This allows us to have access to information of all sorts whenever and wherever we want. The internet is used as the most suitable and efficient way of passing information around, not only this but it is also incredibly fast that it just takes some uploading and emails to pass files around to people around the world. In fact, besides calling people, you can actually go online and meet with people online from different areas of the world to talk to them by sending each other with emails, or chatting in the chat box.


The Internet is used to offer service and do things that you can also do in real life such as Ebay, you can buy things off of the internet. In other cases you can chat with people like Facebook. Therefore, the internet is very helpful on thousands of occasions.


The Internet was created in the United States by the United States Department of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).  It was first connected in an October of 1969, the World wide Web was then created in Switzerland. This was a great significance to everyone and opened doors to the world of learning for millions of people.


The way this differs from the traditional phone, is that unlike the phone, a phone number must be known in order to talk to people. The problem is, that the people you talk to are those that you already know. The internet however, allows you to meet with different people, chat with them and even share your thoughts and ideas and your perspective on things. You can even share bits of your life on it, and it is always the place for inspirations and things that even might change the world.


When information is passed on or uploaded, the bits and pieces of the files are passed around hopping on different networks to get to the place it was requested to go to. If one of the pieces were not passed on, the target destination sends a message to receive the missing pieces by sending the missing pieces again. Computer Systems Recap

From the past few weeks, we had faced a taken apart computer and we were instructed to attach the pieces together. Therefore we have learnt about each piece we were told to install. First of all there are 6 components to put together to make the computer function.

1)CPU- This is the part of the computer that does most of the processing. 

2) Case- This part keeps all other components together in place.

3)Motherboard- This is the part where connects all other components

4)Ram- Random Access Memory. This allows the information to be looked into or organized.

5)HHD- This plays the CDs

6)Power Supply- Supplies the power.

Test video - Dragon

Here's my video about me drawing a dragon and it comes to life. I was just testing out the shade of the pen or pencil so this might be a bit bad. Luckily, I got a white board, so I can make the final video work. I guess that this is going to work really well.

At the beginning,  I didn't have a white board, so I had to improvise and use something of a lighter tone using pencil. But then, when it moved, it was quite hard to show it moving. Therefore, I decided to use a whiteboard. The whiteboard not only makes it easy to draw and rub but it also comes with a very dark tone. Thus, the movie would look much more better! The next movie is guaranteed to have better definition.

My own made Wordle like Wordle work

Since for my laptop, Wordle and my laptop don't go together. So I made my own one by typing, colouring and arranging the sizes and the places of the words of my Wordle work. The subject was about the silk roads, we had to write down words we think of when we hear 'Silk Roads'. Enjoy!
